The University of Debrecen is one of the largest higher education institutions in Hungary at present, with a student body of about 28,000. The cooperation of fourteen faculties ensures a comprehensive foundation that gives the university a leading position as a center for teaching and research in Eastern Hungary. The highest degree of the Higher Education Qualification Prize, given to the most prominent Hungarian higher education institutions, was first granted to the University of Debrecen in 2007. The University runs its programs in accordance with the Bologna Process’s European Qualifications Framework.
